The G12++ is the world’s first curriculum-agnostic certification designed specifically for displaced young people. Built for learners with disrupted education pathways, it certifies real academic capability and readiness for university and skilled employment - without relying on rote, textbook-based learning tied to one national system.
Before today, the exam was field-tested with more than 200 students across private and state schools in the UK, Jordan, Greece, China and beyond. What stood out most was what our own students said afterwards: they felt they could relate to the contexts of the questions more than any other exam they had ever taken - including standardised tests such as the SATs. For young people whose education has been shaped by instability, that relevance matters.
Yesterday, they prepared surrounded by messages from staff and supporters across the world. There was nervous energy, focus and a strong sense that this moment is bigger than one cohort in one exam hall in Beirut.
We could not have reached this point alone. The development of the G12++ has been strengthened by the insight, challenge and support of academic leaders and partners across multiple institutions. We are deeply grateful to the teams at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Cambridge Partnership for Education, Skills Builder Global, University of Leicester, Arizona State University and Modern University for Business and Science, as well as the many individuals who have contributed their expertise along the way.
Today marks the beginning of the G12++ global pilot. It is a first step towards building a credible, rigorous pathway from non-formal education into formal opportunity - and ensuring that displaced young people can prove what they know.
