Our Shining Student Highlight!

Olaa, 14 years old, started her journey with us three years ago. Like many of our students, Olaa was barely able to read and write when she first joined. However, very soon, she progressed so quickly, surpassing our expectations. In fact, she even jumped three classes due to her top marks and commitment to her studies. Olaa is extremely passionate about learning languages, and today, she is fluent in English. She has come a long way in mastering it and can now communicate clearly without any struggle.

Last year, Olaa participated in the first Alsama TED Talk. Her topic was about her future career and her passion for learning languages. She said, “I want to become a businesswoman because I want to assist my family and try my best to build an enormous school for all the future dreamers. Learning languages will benefit me by helping me communicate with people from all over the world.”

Moreover, she participated in the Alsama Art Exhibition. Her painting was about languages, and she depicted Alsama's three principles—commitment, collaboration, and ambition—in four different languages: English, French, Chinese, and Turkish. This artwork shed light on how important these languages are to her career and how implementing these principles will help her achieve her goals.

Olaa is not just talking about her passion; she is taking action and working towards her dreams. Our librarian mentioned that Olaa always reads books in English, and what surprised her was that she began borrowing French books, which are not very common in the library as we only teach English and Arabic. Olaa shared with us that she started learning French on her own, and once she masters French, she plans to move on to learning Turkish.

"I advise my fellow students to always strive for their goals and to remember that failure is just the beginning of success."
