With a great passion for books, our librarian, Fatima, a Year 5 student did an amazing job by taking the lead in organizing the very first reading competition at Alsama. Aiming to encourage students to read regularly, enrich their vocabularies, develop critical thinking by analyzing characters’ actions, engage in group discussions, raise awareness of important issues, and instill human values. She guided students in selecting books that fit their level and interests and provided tips on how to summarize a book. The discussion was a great success! It was clear that the students understood the three books they had chosen for the competition very well. They were challenged by the librarian’s questions, which encouraged them to view the books from different perspectives. All participants were awarded special bookmarks from Alsama Studio.
“The thing that makes the Readers Club competition special for me is seeing a greater interest in reading among students. Their competitive spirit motivates them to read better books, and this brings happiness to my heart because I see the number of readers growing every day. My goal is to spread the love of reading among young people,” said Fatima.
Congratulations to all the participants! We are proud of you, and well done, Hala, for winning first place!
