Despite limited levels of English, each week the girls return to their webcam with another learnt verse, or new ideas for accompanying movements. They are as fun as they are determined, and I always leave these lessons smiling and feeling inspired.Maya Dharampal, Volunteer, Alsama Online Education, Spring 2020
We love volunteers. Volunteers help to build bridges between refugees in the camps and the outside community. And there is nothing more important than collaboration. Only together we will find a better future.
Joining the Shatila children on the cricket pitch is an experience like no other. Within seconds of the children charging through the gates, the pitch is transformed into a space of pure joy, teamwork, and escapism from the hardship of daily life.Emily Birch, Volunteer, Cedar Cricket Club, Summer 2019
If you have an expertise that you want to share with a group of refugee girls or women, come and volunteer with us at the Girls Centre in Shatila, or the Alsama Studio at Bourj Al-Barajneh. You could deliver a workshop for a day or a course for a couple of months. We will support you to raise the funds to make your project viable.
Volunteer Online Teaching
You can also teach a group of our children online. We always require support in teaching English. Or if you have another idea, then please contact us.
Volunteer Cricket Coach
If you play cricket and would like to coach our children, we’d love you to join us. You could teach in Beirut or the Bekaa. Again, the time span is your decision – for a week, a month, a year. Contact us, and we will make it happen.
