The studio is a symbol of hope for all of us women.
Ruqia is from the Aleppo countryside. She now lives in the Bourj el-Barajneh camp with her elderly mother. Ever since Fatima told her about the idea of opening a business in the middle of the camp, the studio has become her second home. Ruqia hopes that there soon will be enough orders so she can work day and night, not only in order to support herself and her mother, but also to save enough money for a surgery to hide the scars on her face.
