Cricket helps children to cope with their harsh living conditions.
From Holms in Syria.
Mezyad was a science teacher before he had to flee with his wife and four children to Lebanon in 2015 when his house was destroyed. Since then he has lived with his family in a tent that doesn’t shelter them from the heat of the summer nor the cold of the harsh Bekaa winter. He longs for his children to grow up in a normal house. Since arriving in Lebanon, he has volunteered for a number of local NGOs. When he heard about the cricket programme. Mezyad was intrigued. Then, from the first moment he picked up the bat he fell in love with the game. Now all his four children are playing cricket too.
