Cricket teaches a player to be part of a team, and at the same time to be a leader. This is such an important lesson for all children, but especially for our girls.
Palestinian Lebanese from Shatila
Ala’ is a third generation Palestinian refugee. She was born and raised in Shatila. She studied at Beirut Arab University Banking and Finance, yet is unable to find a job in her field because of restrictions on Palestinian work permits. But she has another passion: sport. Since childhood she has loved playing football. At University she joined a football and basketball team. and trained as a games coach with the international NGO “Right To Play”. She is a fierce advocate of women and girls’ empowerment, and hopes to open her own Girl Sports Academy one day.
