In November 2020 the Alsama teenager education institute opened its doors to 180 boys and girls aged 12-24 in Shatila. It’s the first secondary education institute in the camp. The classes are grouped by ability, not age.
The students receive 5 hours of each Arabic, English and Math every week.
We teach specially created curricula for teenagers who have missed most of their primary school education.
We have assessed our students. They require 3 to 5 years to reach the Lebanese official Brevet standard in Arabic, English and Math. We want to give them that chance.
