The theme for this week at Alsama: Equality in Cricket! 🏏
Women represent 53% of our cricketers and this is something we are very proud of! Girls and boys play together at the same level. In turn this acts as an inspiration to our younger players, girls and boys alike. Don’t just take it from us, read what our cricket coaches Maram and Louay think about the role of equality:
This coincides beautifully with the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) announcing that the match fee for Men and Women cricketers will be the same. A huge step in the right direction but plenty of work still to be done!
Decisions like this are a promising indicator of what the future holds for cricket, and hopefully sport generally. Perhaps we will see many more countries follow in Alsama’s footsteps soon…
