Alsama kickstarts 2022 with a week of Collective Theme Based Learning

The new year kickstarted at Alsama with a still-relevant topic in 2022: health. Despite the pandemic relentlessly raging all over the world, Alsama students joined their efforts to discuss how to tackle basic health issues during the first week back at school.

This is part of our newly developed ‘Collective Theme-Based Learning’ (CTBL) curriculum. For one full week each month, we have defined one ‘life problem to solve’ that every grade/level and every subject will tackle. Most of our CTBL Objectives are linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals such as this week – Good Health & Wellbeing (SDG 3)

From spotting the symptoms to healthy habits, students have gone through their daily routines in Arabic and English and done calculations in maths to identify what plays a positive role in their well-being and unhealthy aspects they could improve upon.
